8 Arm spinner

Hi all,
Just been playing around with Tinkercad as I wanted a spinner for the top of my smaller Christmas Trees.
Anyway, here is the spinner done on my 3d printer designed for a 200mm print bed. Its a toal of 38.5cm across.
Oh and here are the .stl files if anyone's interested.

Edit: Just added a version of the central hub with snap clips on the back to fit 20mm conduit for mounting

I just tried and they're downloading as a certificate trust list, not as an stl file.

Not sure why that is happening. I just tried downloading them and they came down ok as an .stl file and opened fine in Simplify3d. Perhaps someone else can try and see if the link works for them.

That sounds like a file association difference on @videoman3857 's system. He should be able to open them in whatever program instead of double clicking on them.

Thanks for the files Logan. i will be using them in my display. Is the piece under the join designed as a breakaway part and do you also see the slight offset circled in red or is it just Simplify 3d causing these?

Yes the flat piece under the join is supposed to be broken away along with the supports. The slight offset is probably a function of me taking the original model that were designed for a 300mm print bed and adapting them for a 200mm print bed. I'm not an expert at this sort of thing (only been doing this about a month or so) so some slight remnants of where the bits were re-joined back together in Tinkercad will show up like this. I have printed these and what usually happens is a slight ridge is seen at that point but there does not appear to be any weakness at that point as the parts are nice and strong.

Thanks David. Yes, I was double clicking.
I have just purchased a 3D printer and yet to set it up and load programs associated with it.
I assumed double clicking would just show the file and bring up no associated program to open it.

Double clicking just tries to open the file with whatever program Windows has associated with that extension. If more than one program uses the same extension (and they often do) this can lead to the situation you have. You can change the file association so that double clicking the file opens up in the correct program.

This is the printed version with the snap clips as part of the central hub. Clips onto the 20mm conduit nicely and there is plenty of room to run the wires around between the spinner and the conduit.
