Security Cable vs Landscape Cable and other things

Thanks for that. I ended up using the landscape cable for power injection (probably overkill for my setup this year but will serve well in the future) and I picked up a 100m roll of electrical cable (3 core) for CHEAP at bunnings and am using this as my run from controller to start of sting...

Security Cable vs Landscape Cable and other things

Thanks David. So I will stick with the landscape cable for now. Cheers

powering more then 7.5A of pixels

@scamper - that is the best analogy for power injection I have heard. I have been thinking of it in this way but was a little confused but this makes sense. In this analogy, is the volume of water Amps? and the litres per minute equivalent to Watts?

Security Cable vs Landscape Cable and other things

All, I have bought some landscape cable (This one) to run for power injection for about 250 5v nodes. I have seen others post about 6core 14/020 Security cable (Like this one) (with 2 or 3 wires each for power and data or just power) which seems to be a cheaper option and I was wondering what...

    Simple pixel controller for beginner

The website (linked in my post) says 2048pixels so depends on how may you have per strip, but you may need to do power injection depending on you number of pixels in total. I haven't tested my tester yet, but perhaps Al Hanson (AAH) may be able to shed some light.

    Simple pixel controller for beginner

This is my first year also, and due to time and budget constraints have decided to get a couple of pixel testers from Hanson (AAH - Thanks mate - very quick postage!!!!) Link. They are incredibly cheap for a couple of strings and will save you time programming. Next year I intend coughing up for...

Halloween over - Now onto Christmas

Thanks for that. I won't be attempting this year, just getting in early for next year. Still getting my head around everything. So much to learn. Thanks all for the help

Halloween over - Now onto Christmas

I have checked out the Advatek stuff as well. Some good options there, particularly the weatherproof options which I like. However I think I will save up for a Falcon Board just for the fact these seem to be 'industry standard'. Another question, however, where can one buy pixel net (similar to...

Halloween over - Now onto Christmas

Thanks all for the replies. I am located in Brisbane. Have had a look at AAH and love the look of his BBB board but don’t have a BBB which is an added expense. I like the idea of the differential / long distance options too from falcon and Hanson but out of budget for this year. It looks...

Halloween over - Now onto Christmas

Hi all. Been following this site for a couple of years on and off. Been blown away by the community of it all, and also by the technicality of this passion. I've been around lighting (DMX) control for many years, but now want to start looking at intelligent pixel lighting for Christmas (yes I...
