Power supply issues, we think a surge in the network one day fried something in the plug pack and a couple of chips on the board. Had one of my electronic friends go over it and managed to repair so we are all good again for this year.

Yup I understand all of that. I use Ruckus APs with beamforming and all the smart channel features. It could also be done to the fact that I had the cheapest ESP8266 from Aliexpress and I doubt the quality control was up to much. 6 of the 8 were rock solid the other two were a bit iffy and...

Last year my Falcon failed halfway through my show. I ended up flashing 8 x ESP 8266s that evening and had the show running again the next day. Wifi was ok but not great at some of the furthest points in the garden. I think enclosures have a big part to play as well as where you located the APs.

Being in NZ and delivery prices being high I am looking at alternatives to Chromamesh. Bunnings has 12x12 mesh that I am thinking of using. Here is an old panel with a pixel its a snug fit. I am going to pop along and test the PVC coated one sometime this week Bunnings NZ Mesh

Thanks for the reply guys, gave up in the end and replaced the F48 with 7 ESP 8266 boards I had around for other projects. Ended up just using WLED and syncing the controllers across my Wifi network. Worked OK had some sync issues but nothing that anyone viewing would notice. Not had much luck...

Came home tonight and found my F48 was not on been working fine since December 1st Checked the 5V supply with the multimeter and got a steady 5v. What can I check on the board in order to narrow down the issue? Any common failure points to look for?
