I should also mention that the software has worked for me when programming DMX modules through a LOR dongle and seasonal entertainment LOR to DMX cable.
I know Holidaycoro sells an inexpensive programmer but I'm not sure what the shipping would be like to where you are. I had one and it worked well as a DMX module address programmer. It works with software (PC based) and plugs in to a USB port. I think it sells for around $20 US.
The 3 way Y is just a splice for the data clock and power wires. I would imagine you can use them to inject power, just be sure that you have common ground for the circuit (I'm going off memory here). For more info about power injection refer to the AusChristmasLighting Manual. It does a...
Thanks for the fast response! I was having a hard time reading the writing on these pixels. I did take apart one of the rainbow pixel controllers from Seasonal Entertainment and could read that board, then I traced the wires back. I hooked up one of the pixels to test my stand alone...
Hello everyone,
I am working on a small project which will use a standard SPI RGB controller that generates several patterns and effects in a location that won't have access to a DMX signal. I plan to use WS2801 mini pixels and I have some that I ordered from Serasonal Entertainment. It is...
I don't see the WS 2811 3 wire pixels in the list of supported IC chips on Ray's website for this controller, just WS 2801, WS 2803. I am assuming that i have found the same controller on his site, here is a link...
I have been wanting to migrate to LSP for some time now so I can incorporate RGB pixekls in my holiday displays. So far I have played around with the demo versions of LSP and have been using LOR S3 Basic Plus for a couple of years. My issues ore these:
1. When I try to create a simple...
I'm in northern California as well and I hope I have the chance to take my children to see it. The lights will be on every night for two years, and they began yesterday on march 5th. This is one of the largest public art displays ever created, and the project was privately funded. Here is a...
I wanted to say thanks for sharing this! I built one just like it at around 8 feet tall in about half an afternoon and bench tested the lights. It turned out great!

I've been waiting for this! Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade from the basic version to the advanced version? It would be nice to be able to upgrade as my display grows.

So I did order up a "starter kit" that included some RGB modules, a power supply, a 3 channel DMX controller, CAT 5 wire, and a USB dongle to program the DMX controller and test the lights. I also downloaded the Lightshow Pro trial and had a chance to play with it a little bit. I had limited...
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'm looking forward to building on my current display for the coming season, with the help from people found on sites like this one!

This is video of my house last year. Let me know what you think, and keep in mind it was my first time using this equipment and I put it together (including sequencing) in a little over a week.
