What’s the key to preventing megatree from bunching at top? More space from the last pixel?

So, the strands of my Megatree are 100 alternate nodes up and down, but I use strings of 50 and have the connector at the top. What I did was try to weave the connector to the pixel leads and zip time them down so not to stick out too much. Also, I tried to better space out my strings at the top, but it depends on the topper you have.

Yea. I’ve done more or less the same. I’m 200 alternating. I’ve got a 96 topper from Mattos. I’d intended to do 52 strings or roughly a 200 degree tree. I left 4 open holes at the top and connected them with carabiners to the topper. But the strings were bunching too much side to side. I ended up going 48 strings, skipping every other position on the topper and going 360 to prevent the bunching, but it destroys the resolution unless you’re super far away. My thought would be I go back to a 200 degree tree, move the strings to every hole and use zip ties to add 6 inches to the top before the last hole of that’d solve the bunching at the top of the tree.

id STRONGLY advice that because what happen to me was the longer loops hocked around each other in the wind and ended up pulling the wiring out the back of the pixels

I don't think you can avoid the bunching up at the top - just because. Mine are overlapping some - but at night all lights at the top are visible. So I don't see it as a problem

Yea. It worked out. I’ve got to remember not to look at some of these things during the day. The tree is awesome and huge. It’s a rockstar in this years show. Now I’ve got to figure out the layout for next year at our new house.
