First lot of lights going up on the house for Xmas with great help from my 10 yr old son

1st time I've powered up my big controller boxes this year. Fired up 1st time. :)

They were still up on the wall as I never got around to taking them down from last year!

The following is my 1st pasted email conversation to show my frustration at the absolute horrendous service DHL provide.

The link ( http://www.dhl.com.au/en/express/tracking.html?AWB=2201430464&brand=DHL )containing the tracking number 2201430464 actually goes straight to the delivery which is now in Melbourne for the 4th day in a row as it "speeds through the DHL network". Due to the fact that the delivery is taking so long and I really have no idea when I will see it I have re-ordered most of the stuff again and it is being despatched via TNT today (1 week after DHL). If the TNT delivery turns up before the DHL 1 I will do my absolute best to name and shame DHL for the absolute crap delivery service that it has performed.

I am currently waiting on 2 things. The first is a reply from "one of our Management Team" and the 2nd is a delivery http://www.dhl.com.au/en/express/tracking.html?AWB=2201430464&brand=DHL that is moving slower than a DHL management team member despite reading "
our online results give you real-time, detailed progress as your shipment speeds through the DHL network.". This parcel has been 150km away for 3 days now and it's hard to earn some money from these incoming parts to pay for the exorbitant fee for the expected 3-7 day delivery to a "remote" area. Today marks 7 days since my delivery was sent and based on the fact that it has moved precisely nowhere for 3 days now I have no idea when I will get my parts. As you can tell I am highly frustrated at the slow, overpriced express service that you advertise and aren't delivering on.

Can someone give me a logical explanation why Eaglehawk (Australian postcode 3556) is classified as remote whereas Huntly and Axedale in 3551 aren't. I get my DHL shipments via Aus Post which sucks heaps as I pay a fortune for freight out of China and get stung for the remote surcharge when other towns nearby but further out into the sticks can get the same stuff freighted there for up to 1/3 of the price. Where possible I try to get my Chinese suppliers to not ship via DHL as it costs me extra for no valid reason or alternately I have to arrange shipping to a friend in 3550 2km away.
If you pop 3550, 3551 and 3556 into http://www.aus-emaps.com/postcode_finder.php you will see how I am being stiffed.

Today was the 1st full day of Christmas installing for me for 2015.
I put up:
  • about 20 coro cutouts
  • 9 wireframe reindeer
  • 1 wireframe santa
  • 8 coro stars
  • 1 bodgy mega tree (real mega tree went up 2 weeks ago)
  • 7 sets of icicles
  • 1 mega star
  • 1/2 of my rooftop XMAS2015
  • 9 spinners
  • about 10 fairy light strings

Today is also the 1st day of
rabbit.jpg
after finding that 1 of the strings on mega tree has been chewed already. That is in addition to the string that still needs to be repaired from last years critter damage.
