A little confused - seeking help please

It could be related to using a universe size of 510 vs 512 inconsistently.
ok, where have I done that? this si all new to me and if I've done that, I've not meant to.
where would I look to find that?

That’s on the xLights controller settings and WLED app. Try swap the channel per universe count to 512 on xLights. Not sure if WLED work like that, let me check.

A standard DMX universe is 512 channels, but a lot of the time a universe size of 510 channels is used as that's 170 pixels.

I have no idea which size your controller uses, but you'll need to find out and set xlights to be the same.

From post #6
Top 46
Right 46
Bottom 46
Left 46
Arch 56

That's 240, i ran it through the calculator 3 times to check? how did you get 230?

Arch, i counted as 46. My bad.
:) all good. i just wondered how it got to 230? but I can't point fingers, I couldn't count 4 sides of a square before.

Any other suggestions?

is it possible the controller is just braindead and a reflash might fix it?

I spend hours with similar issues last year that just read WLED make me sweat. :cool::laugh:
Try separating the universes,
Window = univ 1-2 (552 ch) 1 universe is 510, here maybe the issue...
Arch = univ 3 (56 ch)
Star = univ 4 (30 ch)
On xLights controller setup raise the universe counts to 4.
On xLights layout setup use star channels by universes not the end of the previous model.

Star is on it's own Node MCU and working fine. the window was presenting this behaviour before I added the star.

Currently (as a previous suggestion from here) i have the arch as the start of universe 3 and use that as the reference point.

The window is the first item in the chain. it's using universe 1 &2
