chep stepper motor 28BYJ-48 for about $3

Most likely the same thing, works well and has quite a bit of torque

Late to this post and been down this road previously.
I even printed enough components from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:941759 the bubble bucket machine to know it is a good choice if you want to go down the DIY road.
but i just bit the dollar bullet and bought one similar to this https://djcity.com.au/product/chauvet-dj-b-550-bubble-machine/ without the Chauvet name :)
and has a remote control.
This one is DMX controlled... https://djcity.com.au/product/beamz-sb2000-led-smoke-bubble-machine/
Though currently listed out of stock.

Not sure how to integrate fans into a standalone type unit was working on a design that had 150mm fans ducted from the sides.

Cheers
Phil

These were massive at my display too. Happy to help with this project. I dont know how much help ill be ( still working on my 3D printer to get it working right)
My kids loved your bubble machine, did you have the Beamz SB2000-LED ?

I have been playing around with some designs, Jarrad was kind enough to let me borrow his Hurricane as it had a different process on the bubble wand compared to the cheaper units most people pick up which seemed to allow for the protenital for better control/less wastage in possibly a smaller footprint.

On that end, I have ordered some motors/blowers/pumps and drawn up this basic design to do a trail on to see if its a feasible design to move forward with.

The Design should be able to fit into a footprint something like this, which is a 120(W)x150(L)x100(H)

All of he components i've orderd so far are 5vdc units so if they all end up being suitable the build may be able to be run off usb level power.

I need to order some HDPE to do some test cuts and work out controllers etc but for now I should just be able to power everything up to test.

Totally unrelated to this project but what did you draw everything up with and animate with?

@AAH Yeh Mark is correct i have a Fusion 360 subscription for my business, the animations are just a screen grab of the joint movement. It makes is easier to visualise how everything should connect and if there will be any movment issues with the models.

I can also use it to export CAM files to be able to machine up.
