Hi Everyone,
I have been in talks with the EL Panel supplier from the aliexpress store that Fasteddy found and he has this Christmas Tree Design on offer http://www.gadgets-n-gizmos.com/sound-activated-light-up-equalizer-shirt-fm133 .

This bulk buy is for the panel only, no shirt.

They can offer this design for $3.74 each plus delivery to AUS.

I have got one quote for a set of 10 panels via EMS Shipping for $30.10

Once I get actual numbers on the panels I will ask for another quote for shipping and then we will know the actual cost per panel.

At the moment based on the 10 panel price they will cost $6.75 each plus whatever Australia Post charge to get it to your door.
I am hoping if we get a larger amount the shipping price per item will come down.

Please let me know if you are interested and how many panels you would like and I will get the ball rolling.

I like the shirt effect. What is required to use the panel to get a custom effect into a shirt ? Are there some other posts that explain this ?

looks like a simple 8 or 9 conductor ribbon cable.

Imagine synchronizing it to the current show, wirelessly.

I may still have a couple of shirts and panels at home. They had failed, but I can open up one of the controllers to see how they achieve the switching.

Hi All,
I have got an actual picture of the panel and controller. He has given me some new shipping prices for larger numbers. I also asked how much shipping would be to somewhere in USA like Ohio.

At the moment we have around the 40 mark so I got a quote for an order of 50 panels for shipping.
50pcs: $90.80
This would work out to $1.82 each for shipping to AUS. A total of $5.56 each panel.
I am hoping we will get to this number if not more.

I also got a quote for 15panels shipped to Ohio USA for $33.40.
So delivery to the USA is an option if someone over their is willing to put their hand up and organise panels for that side of the world. I can give you all the info to get started. Or I can add them to our order but you will have to pay for double shipping (China to AUS to USA).

The size of the panel is14cm x 21cm and the lenght of the wire is around 50cm.

I'd say it t would be hackable, but maybe as a project for those more technically inclined.

How bad is shipping from AUS to USA?

What I'm wondering is the diff between BULK to AUS, followed by individual packages to US addresses, versus Bulk to US, followed by individual packages domestically. I have no idea if the latter is a much cheaper.

Having done some shipping to the US, generally a bulk ship with local distro is cheaper.

Sounds good fathead45. The cost of each panel before shipping is $3.74 each. So for 15 panels they would be a total of $5.97 each. At the moment the US panel count is sitting at 11 to 13.
