Spent a few hours on Arrow.com last night and got confused with the variety of PS which 1 do people use they say all different amounts of outputs, I'm use to cheap chinese where you have + - E then 2 + - I will be powering a matrix with 2,688 nodes so need around 300w or bigger.

OK so when I look at the Mean Wells I see LRS which Daryl says is the cheaper version which 1 do people recommend for us to use.
If you are using 12v pixels -> lrs-350-12
If you are using 5v pixels -> lrs-350-5

Mouser is USA based. They do sell via X-ON but it's usually cheaper to buy from Mouser if your order more than AUD $60 worth. Arrow had free freight as a promotion recently, but not sure if it still current.

here's a post from diychristmas site from a few years back.... make of it what you will. :)

"The RSP-320-12 is an Active PFC power supply, where the LRS is Non-PFC.

In every other way, the LRS is as good or better as the RSP.

Mainly PFC is needed for meeting regulatory demands since it reduces harmonics to the power company. (i.e. High peaks and crests). For example the LRS would be illegal in Europe, but it's still legal in the U.S.

It won't really reduce your electrical bill or anything.

So the LRS is probably good enough... EXCEPT that I'm going to change my own power supplies to PFC ones next year. I have 12 active running 60 A power supplies and they are creating havoc with each other and my GFCI outlets, so I have to change them anyway. I don't know if PFC will really help that much with the inter-power-supply interference, but I don't want to have to change them yet again."

and another post.

"Inrush current might (or might not) matter to you:

LRS-350-12: 60A
RSP-320-12: 20A
"

I assume these are much better quality than the Chinese ones? Have you had issues with the Chinese ones?
