Big W Christmas time LED lights how do you change between the functions

I have the 8 function christmas lights and I can not get the functions to change and I am not in the slightest bit an expert in setting things up. Any help in this operation ie hold button down for x amount of seconds double click etc, I am confused and

A brief press (less than a second) is all it takes with all the multi-function controllers I've seen.

Is this a new set or old one that just doesn't work properly now?

Bought last year only put up now, I can not seem to get the wave and chase etc might be faulty.
So I just click one after the other and stop on the prefered one.

Yep, they jump to the next program with each press. The reason I ask about old vs new is that sometimes water gets into them one year and the switch contact corrode while in storage.

Once the carbon coating on the back of the rubber button wears out or is damaged, there's no easy way to fix it unfortunately.

A lot of us on ACL chop the controllers off and run the Big W (and Kmart) strings from different controllers.
