Cannot connect controller to x lights

I have been unable to get my holiday coro pixel controller to talk to xlights. It will not do the upload output and it says it connect connect. The controller itself works in test mode. But will kot work in test mode in x lights and the button shows up as red and never turns green. The ip address is correct. Also of note, wheni am on the laptop, I type in the.ip to try and kof into the controller page ans it doesnt load.

Are the IP ranges of the controller, the computer and router all in a compatible IP range?
Post the IP's if in doubt.

sounds like something has changed, maybe a new Internet connection with a new Modem / Router ? now using diffirent IP Ranges , if you type in the IP and it wont connect, sounds like you need to check if your laptop is still in the same IP Range
