I have been asked by a few people how I made my window display items for 2011 as seen here
So figured Id post here for everyones benefit.

(cant work out pictures so you will have to link to flickr)

Step 1: Find a design, I just googled various christmas themes .
Step 2 : Measure your window etc and mark out a sheet of corflute as below. Trace your design onto the corflute. I used a projector but Im sure you artier people can hand draw them.

Step 3: Carefully cut through one side of the corflute to create a hinge point . I personally use a scalpel with a No11 blade.
Step 4 : Cut out the design. I taped 6 sheets together then used my jigsaw on a slow setting with a fine blade.Once you cut out the design cover the front of the corflute with black *** . I used contact but paint or anything will work. As I used recycled corflute paint wouldnt stick.
Step 5: Bend up the sides and tape off to create a box shape.
Step 6 : Attach light modules as below (note I recycled for sale signs cause Im a greeny at heart. Actually is just because they were free)

I used dumb modules from Ray Wu
Step 7: Cut a sheet of corflute for the backing. The white side faces the lights as below

Step 8: Tape it all together using your choice of Black tape I prefer cloth or duct tape but hey I get it for less than $2 a roll.

Step 9 : Hook up a controller
Step 10 Grab a beer and enjoy the show.

Looks fantastic, gives a really cool effect. Thanks for taking the time to share this with everyone. It's really interesting to see all the work that has gone into creating display items like this.
