OK I'm New, so keep it simple please....

I'm playing with the custom model part of the layout.... trying out a singing tree....

First I thought I could have 8 strings of single lights... 1 color per string, 8 strings, 1 for each part of the model..
But be B... if I can work out how to do, or if it can even be done....?????
Or do all custom models have to be made up of 1 long string???

Tryed importing a xmodel file, downloaded one someone was kind to post, read the help files.... but I could not follow them, seamed like reading help for V3 when I have V4.....

If someone could walk me through it???

oh I have been able to export files... That was easy.....

thanks people...

you can do it with 8 rgb dumb strings if you want , or 1 long string of pixels and define each section , have you got a picture or drawing of the tree?

The simple solution when not using pixels is to still have as many numbers on the matrix but instead of sequentially numbering them use the channel number each bulb is connected to. So if you have 8 channels you use the numbers 1-8 repeatedly. If your outline is on the first channel then replace all the numbers in the outline with the number 1.
