My family & I fared well through the storms. We have just been without power for a number of days and had a few things blow away. My thoughts go out to the many, many people who are suffering. Many areas are cut off by flood waters. Many more are still without power. Many have suffered great loss, injuries and lost lives.
For anybody so inclined, please join me and send your positive thoughts to all those who need it.
It's very warming to see the community join together and help one another.
To all our emergency services & volunteers - Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are all amazing

We didn't cop the full grunt of the storm but we did suffer a leaking roof with overflowing gutters and power outage but nothing too serious.

Glad to see Habbo pulled thru alright and for those who didn't, I hope they get back on their feet quickly.

The Hunter has copped it again. The weather we got was intensifying as it moved up the coast from Sydney. I don't think I saw as much damage due to water as the 2007 weather we got that washed the stupid boat onto the beach, but the wind was stronger and lasted longer. More trees were blown over this time around causing damage in most suburbs of Newcastle. Maitland, Dungog and surrounding areas copped most of the water. We managed one swift water rescue in our home town after a car got swept off the road and disappeared into the bush...

After night shift I came out to find my car (the white one) saw spared... Just!

A blurry view of driving through flood water in our 4x4 tanker after our headlights went under and our flashers went out. No moonlight, just torches lighting up the guide posts...

An unlucky school bus driving back from his route and aquaplaned on water over the road...
