Element 14 checking up on people

So I just got a random call from Element 14 asking me what my company does and why I am buying stuff from them, seems like they might be cracking down on only selling to real businesses. Not sure if anyone else has gotten a similar call.
 
David is probably right.

I've only ever bought from them twice. After the second purchase they called and signed me up with a business "account".

Didn't ask for a company name or what I did
 
Well they asked me what my business does and what products I would normally purchase and what I was using them for, all seemed very accusatory, I have purchased from them a few times mainly Rasp Pi's and some resistors and a few other things.
 
Got the phone call myself, they offered to set up and account for me and give me free delivery and 10% discount on all orders over $150.
Didn't have the heart to tell them I have all the raspberry Pi's I need :)
 
They will often ring up and offer discounts etc. company I work for will often spend a couple of thousand with them each month. A trick I have learnt if you ever want something request a quote and Request an extremely cheap price. Often I get things for less then half then list price.
 
I have an account that I use sporadically, I tell them I use E14 at work and this is just me doing miscellaneous project work in my spare time, they seemed happy with that....( this is the truth BTW ):)

they send me newsletters and such, although the Rpi are often excluded from their specials, but they are still cheaper than anywhere else i've found.
