I use 25mm (1inch) electrical conduit for everything as its a good balance between strength, size and price.

i just use dabs of silicone in between the pixels

Anyone tried this with some of the tint tubes?

Funny you ask that, i am converting my poles to use the tint tube and have tested some the other night using the 5 foot ones which are the exact same length as the strip i used in these poles. Im removing the coro and the strip from the condiut and running the strip on the inside of the tube. Ill then attach the tube to the conduit. Will look much better.

I'll still need something to stabilize it.

Im still going to have these angled the same way my poles were as when thay are standing up they end up taking too much away from the house and blocking the view
