Hello Everyone!
I came across ACL a couple of months ago during my endless search for information on RGB pixels and found a treasure trove of information! I live in Washington state and have done christmas lights for many years, animating for the past 4. I use LOR and have been very happy with the product, but haven't been able to get the big picture of LOR with RGB (don't want to put out the $$ for CCR's). I've read the manuals from FastEddy and just when I think I've got it - I don't.... Hopefully with all the intelligent people here I can figure it out. Everyone seems willing to share knowledge here in such a friendly way, that I finally worked up the nerve for my first post. Thank you so much for providing this outlet of information and questions, I think I'm ready to jump in with both feet! :)

Welcome to the ACL forum. You are going to find this place rocks with help & information. I have been into all of the other forums & after I got into this one, I have rarely gone back to the others. I only knew a little about LOR about a month ago, but after hanging around here a while, I have learned and under stand so much more. These guy are the finest bunch I have met in the light applications & control. You can get into the chat room & see how much & fast you can get your questions answered. These guys know all the different ways to get your project going. They do not try to sell you on any one brand or product. You have to be careful however when you ask for something. You may get 4,000 guys telling you 5,000 ways to do it. I think it is in their blood to be that way, also watch out for that Aussie slang they sometimes use. They can't help themselves, cause they have to live up-side down down-under.... Have fun...& good luck...

Sounds like we are rowing the same boat. Its a common theme amongst us newbs that we are made feel welcome amongst the die hard members. Glad to see you are enjoying this forum as much as i am.

Welcome to working with RGB.. First thing is to get a short haircut so you do not pull your hair out...
Just kidding..

I am just jumping into RGB's myself in Vancouver,Washington... With the wealth of info and contacts around here you should be able to do just about anything you want as long as you have time and money..
Do your research and ask alot of questions.. Someone else probaly has done alot of the legwork and you can benefit from our mistakes and sucesses..

I'm in Cincinnati, been on this site since November. Like the OldMan posted above, I almost never visit the other forums anymore.

I check these forums everyday and I am in the chat room most evenings just watching. Never once have I felt silly asking a question here. I have never seen response from anyone be negative. So ask away, you may get some confusing answers, but ask for clarification and again you will get a very friendly answer.

When you get a confusing answer, it is usually because the experts forget sometimes that as a newbie we have no idea what all the LOR, DMX, PR12, ELOR, etc stand for. Eddy's manual will help you a lot in the beginning but then you have to apply it in your specific situation and that's where it can become confusing. Most times the answer will be fairly simple.

Always ask lots of questions before you purchase anything as it can save you a lot of time, money and mistakes.
