Hi from the UK

I’ve been interested in Christmas lighting and home automation since the early days of X10. Sadly I’ve never had the time or money to do anything more than shop bought lights switch on and off using home automation.

I originally installed home automation based on ZWave, but now I have Amazon Echo’s, Google Hub, Phillips Hue, Hive, Nest etc. I’m also interested in Arduino’s, ESP8266 and Raspberry Pi’s.

I’m hoping to combine my interest in home automation and microcomputers / controllers with WS2811 led pixels.

I would appreciate any suggestions on where to start. I would love a Mega Tree but I think that’s some way off.

I would also appreciate any information on suppliers in the UK as we don’t seem to have as many options as the USA and Australia
