After a few hours of drying join is holding strong, I found that the tubes I had have a slight bevel on the end from inner to outer edge but was easy to make level with a pocket knife. I used a split off cut held with a cable tie on one tube to make it easy to line the two tubes up whilst drying.

Have also noted that some of my tubes whilst experimenting with different glues have been out in the sun for over a month and compared to the tubes that have not been exposed have discoloured slightly. When light is passed through them it doesn't seem noticeable at this stage.

Best glue so far I have found to joint 2 tubes together is Sellies Plastic Glue will support own weight in 30 seconds fully cured 12 to 24 hours
