Ive decided to get another AVD DC48 to go down at ground level of the house, the upper one is going on the roof, its going to save me miles and miles of cabling which Im beginning to hate and is costing.

Im needing your advice as to how it can be setup. Using LOR S3.

Currently I have all chans of the DC48 full, so RGB chans 1-16. So what Im going to do is basically take half my lights and put them on 2nd DC48 instead (ground level of house as opposed to roof).

My setup will be:

Roof DC48 (Univ 1)

Ch 1-3 - Our window (dumb RGB strip)
Ch 4-6 - Caitlins window frame ( dumb RGB strip)
Ch 7-9 - Corostar 1 (dumb RGB strip)
Ch 10-12 - Corostar 2 ( dumb RGB strip)
Ch 13-15 - Archway frame (dumb RGB strip)
Ch 16-18
Ch 19-21
Ch 22-24
Ch 25-27
Ch 28-30
Ch 31-33
Ch 34-36
Ch 37-39
Ch 40-42
Ch 43-45
Ch 46-48 - Fibreoptic archway (has to go in this chan as I have relays attached beside this chan to switch mode)

Ground level DC48

Ch 1-3 - Buxus 1 & 2 (100ct dumbRGB string)
Ch 4-6 - Buxus 3 & 4 (100ct dumbRGB string)
Ch 7-9 - Buxus 5 & 6 (100ct dumbRGB string)
Ch 10-12 - Lounge window frame - (dumbRGB strip)
Ch 13-15 - Mailbox 1 (100ct dumbRGB string)
Ch 16-18 - Mailbox 2 (100ct dumbRGB string)
Ch 19-21
Ch 22-24
Ch 25-27
Ch 28-30
Ch 31-33
Ch 34-36
Ch 37-39 - My door frame (dumbRGB strip)
Ch 40-42 - Buxus 7 & 8 (100ct dumbRGB string)
Ch 43-45 - Buxus 9 & 10 (100ct dumbRGB string)
Ch 46-48 - Buxus 11 & 12 (100ct dumbRGB string)

Questions:

1. Do I have the first DC48 as of course *Univ 1* 1-48, then the second DC48 *Univ 1* - 50-98 ? Univ 2 & 3 are my P2.

2. As you can see I have tried to even out the load on the board.

The second DC48 can be set up to start on channel 49 so that it will use channels 49 to 98.

They would both be on the same universe (in LOR) assuming you are connecting them to the same USB-DMX dongle.

It does not matter which DC48 you wire into first. ie. You don't have to go [Dongle]--[DC48 1..48]--[DC48 49..96] necessarily.

The termination jumper (next to RJ45 sockets) should be OFF for the DC48 in the middle and ON for the DC48 on the end of the DMX run.

More info in the wiki.
