There is such thing as a bad batch. Overall first year failures for me seem about 1 out of 10k pixels, but early this year I was impatient for preorders to arrive and got a box of 500 from Amazon... lost 4 pixels out of 5 vertical strips in about 2 weeks so I ripped and replaced them rather than repairing. Others from the same manufacturer have been fine.
