Large addressable LEDs. Recommendations?

Hi there.
I have seen a few videos where people have lit up large Christmas presents on their lawn (which I’m assuming is a transparent plastic).

Is there a large addressable LED which would be suitable for something like this?

Flood lights can be effective for this type of effect. Some just put a bunch of standard pixels inside and make them act as one pixel inside xLights

Mine (Boscoyo chromaglow, they're pretty common) have a bunch of LED inside, not just one. But yeah, if you want a lot of light from a small number of channels, look at WS2811 floods. Or DMX PARs or floods.

IF you are looking for large pixels search on carnival, fairground or cabochon pixels. These are common terms for multi-led pixels. Not likely as bright as a floodlight but they are much larger than a 12mm pixel.

I recently acquired the chromaglow presents. What are some effects in xlights that are ideal to be used for this prop?

I use OPS (other people's sequences). My chromaglow presents usually are mapped the following way:
Base (inside glow)->flood lights
Ribbons->verticals, such as pixel poles or house verticals or window verticals
Bows->Stars (on pixel poles, or all stars)

Taken together, this gives the presents a sort of baseline (floods), action (ribbons up/down), and accent(bow pixel).

The effects used? Single strand or similar for the ribbon, On (and variants) for the glow and the bow. The presents aren't going to do much with area-filling effects like pinwheel or shaders (though if you apply to a large group, they'll play nicely enough).

Good ideas for ribbons / Whole present:
On, off, Bars, Candle, Color Wash, VU, Shimmer, Single Strand, Snowflakes, Spirals, Strobe, Twinkle
Possibly fire effect, Garlands, Meteors on the whole thing; static State effect is also good to have handy.

Good ideas for stars/glow:
On, off, Candle, VU, Shimmer,

Bad ideas IMO:
Butterfly, Circles, Curtain, DMX/MH :), Faces, Fan, Fireworks, Guitar, Kaleidoscope, Life, Lightning, Lines, Liquid, Morph, Pictures, Pinwheel, Plasma, Ripple, Servo, Shader, Shape, Sketch, Snowstorm, Tendril, Text, Tree, Video, Warp, Wave.

That's a very open-ended question ... you can find a sequence on xlights.info, a lot of them will map to this prop but hard to be sure without trying them out. Or did you just mean as an example for copying effects for your own sequencing attempt?
