Hi all,

I was just wondering, how does everyone deal with props on the lawn and cables going to these props?

Don't mow?

Because it is a pain moving them out and in each week, especially in a Queensland summer.

I just whipper snip around the props and sometimes disconnect the cables if it gets too long. But I never move the props themselves.

You can look into “plant growth regulator” which will slow down some of the growth in your lawn (and potentially make it thicker/lusher).
Like this?

It says that it “increases lateral growth.”

(AKA grass grows sideways? How is this possible?)

Runners, expansion of the covered area. Not the blades going up.
If grass didn't grow sideways, you'd only ever have that spot of grass where it was originally seeded and it'd never fill in the gaps.
Oooooohhhhhhh.

Makes sense.

It doesn’t harm the grass in any way?
