Using 4 wide by 2 high P10 panels with a Beagle Bone Black and a Hanson Electronics octoscrolla.

This was another big learning curve for me, but with the help of the ACL and other Youtube clips and asking some questions I got it working!


Here is a you tube video of my home made enclosure which is basically a timber frame with some clear plastic sold as table top protector from bunnings to water proof it.

I did get chance to test the Tune To sign out and it got caught in a rain storm and no leaks, so all appears good.

How do you send data to your sign? Is it just a standalone prop that displays the "Tune To" message with FPP on the BBB? or are you able to control it from your sequences too?

I am not 100% sure which way I will go for our display to be honest.
In the video above it was running directly from xLights with the BBB in bridge mode.

Another update.
I am using the Tune To Sign as part of our small Halloween display (more of a excuse to test everything before xmas).

After running our Halloween show for a couple of nights (from 8:00 pm) we had a couple people knock on the door and ask when are we turning the lights on, my Tune To sign does display show times when display is running, but I am not running the Tune To sign before the show starts.

So I quickly made up a sign out of some spare coro and grabbed some stick on numbers and made a static sign that slides down into the front of the Tune To sign during the day,

Just looking at doing my own 5 x 2 P10/P5 for a 'tune to' sign that I could also do a sms messaging thing on.

So which of the boscoyo panel bits and pieces did you get to put your one together ?
