First find room to fit 8m long centre post then text the other half to say the garage is closed. :D

24 strands. 5m 5V 30/m pixel strips. Top 30mm centers, bottoms 120mm centers. Mounted on 20mm conduit.
2 strands per universe joined at top. Pixlite 16 300 pixels per universe.
35mm x x 35mm x 2mm wall Durgalv center support and 25mm x 25mm x 1.6mm cross sections.
Room for Bethlehem star on top.

Not happy with gap at the top (allowed room for bolt). Will alter then can straighten and fix middles.

Funny was going to ask Michael, but for now spot glued.
As modules are water proof I was not going to get too fussy about sealing. I might be wrong but happy to put it outside for a few months to see what happens.

Looking good. I hit glue my too on. You can spot hit glue to hold it and silicone the rest. It seals the unit and makes it nice and rigid but if you need access to a broken pixel, well a good cutting knife goes a long way.

How deep did you make your sides. I used 65mm on my candy canes but I did 100mm for my star for better diffusion.

My sides are 50mm. Seem to get reasonable diffusion.
I was going to silicon all around for rigidity rather than for actual sealing. (Fast Eddy made a comment I read that glue was not secure enough alone.)
I have put Pixels in but then realized they are 12V and the tree is 5V. :(
As an aside I have run a 6m 0.5mm 4 core security cable to it and it does not seem to the performance of colour. I have doubled the -ve as suggested by davrus.

Also what glue gun do you use? I got a cheap one and does not have much glue in reserve.

I got a cheap one too like $15 and ordered 30cm glue sticks. Seems to be ok except when doing long runs.

I found that if you use enough hot glue it stays but the glue is rigid where silicone flexes. Also hot glue dis colours in the sun.

My sticks are only 100mm long so run out real quick but good enough for what I'm doing.

My mega tree became too large to move in one piece, my partner said "make it smaller".... who is this person I'm living with????? never go smaller just find a better solution to handling a large tree. :D :D :D
