Hi,
I want to construct a new controller to replace the MFC which came with the light strings I am using - 500 leds. The lights run at mains voltage dc (directly after a bridge diode set).
The existing MFC has a couple of SCRs labelled PCR 406X. I can get these on ebay but they are quite expensive, around £7.00 each and I would need six of them.
Is there a cheaper equivalent I could use ?
Thanks,
Mike

That one looks to be similar to the 800mA 400V sensitive gate SCRs used in a lot of similar units.

Possible alternatives are BT169G and MCR100-6 (on eBay for about AUD $7 for 10 pieces).
