I just threw a quick sequence together in HLS at the time, to show how I could light up each segment or each present individually. Nothing special, that's for sure. Xlights would do this very easily or any of the others I would imagine.
 
Hey @Habbosrus I'm putting together my own version of these, and I wanted to check is the top piece all one flat piece, or have you changed the height/depth of each present to give it more 3d depth? The first image looks like it has shadows cast on the present outlines but not sure how you achieved this?
I'm going for a flat piece over the top.
