So I dropped my daughter off to her friends for a sleepover. Happens her dad is a sparky and I picked his brain regarding earthing - fuses - etc.
He asked what it was for and i showed his some of the enclosures on here and he offered to help.
Well the end result from his help is that he gave me a cabinet / enclosure / fuse box. He also came over and after I had done the layout the way i wanted with the following;
- Pixlite 16 Long Range
- Two Pixlite receivers (for mega tree)
- 5 port gigabit switch
- Raspberry Pi
- 3 x power supplies
- White Led strip for lighting if needed
and wired up the box so i do not burn down the house / shock and maybe kill myself from not being earthed properly / blow anything up. Added a power board, some glands and circuit breakers.
End result being that I will be able to run my entire house from this box and learned a few things about power.
Now all I have to do is extend the pigtails to reach the bottom gland and will be right to rock and roll.
Main thing is that he never asked for payment or anything in return. "Its what mates do" was the response.
So I did the rightful Aussie thing and put a slab in his truck as he left.
