3.7 - Don't go chasing Protocols

WHAT'S NEW

  • • Added support for UCS1903, SM16703P & UCS2904 pixel types.
  • • Added Static IP Mode to all boards
  • • Added Network reset mode to all non pixel boards.
  • • LLDP support - No one will care, but we now have LLDP support

SPECIAL MODES

Each board now has three special modes that you can activate with button presses:

Reset to factory settings

Resets the board to factory settings, because sometimes you break it so much, the only way to make progress is to begin again.

Reset network settings

Sometimes you only break it MOSTLY and doing this will reset JUST the network settings.

Set static IP

Sometimes you don't have a DHCP server and you need the damn board to appear on the network (and we don't want to deal with 169. addresses). This sets the IP address to192.168.68.68.

HOW TO ACTIVATE

Baldrick8 & Baldrick17

Press and hold a certain button and power cycle the board. Hold B1 for about 10 seconds to reset network settings, B2 to set a static IP address, and B3 for a reset to factory settings.

All other boards

Press and hold the 'oh no' button and power cycle for about 10 seconds to reset to factory settings. Press 'oh no' 3 times in 3 seconds to reset network settings, or 5 times in 3 seconds to set the static IP address.

Frequently asked (ish) questions

Why can't I set the static IP address it resets to?
HOW… A COMBINATION OF DOTS AND DASHES ON THE OH NO BUTTON.. GET A GRIP SAMANTHA, WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE HAPPY THAT WE CREATED A FEATURE YOU WANTED, WHY IS IT NEVER GOOD ENOUGH?? WHY??..
Why 192.168.68.68?
Three reasons: 1) it works better on Dom's local network, 2) ending in 168.68.68 is easy to remember, 3) he couldn't get an IP that worked with 8008135.

i thought the whole idea of resetting the ip would mean a normal ip address, (you know for easy access) but to change the network to Doms weird ip range is silly.
