Hi Alan, thanks for reply, i need a cable IDC that is 1.4mts long, is there away to join 2-3 smaller cables or can i find one long one,

Order the cable by the metre. If you don't have the crimping. tool, your next best thing is a bench vise, as it will provide even pressure along the edge of the connector to crimp it.
Alternatively Alan might be able to make up the lengths you need for a nominal charge, but reach out directly

only problem is Jaycar is 2 hours away, have looked online and
they do sell idc cable by the meter ,so will have to wait till i get to Adelaide ,

Back when my hands weren't cactus I have actually crimped IDC connectors in my bare hands. I do have the proper parallel jaw crimping pliers for the connectors but vice grips or multigrips do the job just as well.
