    So this year, I have incorporated a very interactive side to my display. I have made a control unit that links to 2x pedal bikes fitted with Dyno's.. The faster you ride the more letters that light up in the words, 'Xmas' (kids) and 'Reindeer' (adults) The letters are created from 12v EL wire which is powered separately and joined to the relays to switch them off and on. PLC is the controller that detects voltage and tell the relays when to open and close. See attached picture. First of its kinds in North Queensland, I believe. :)

    Very clever to do something like this.

    I've taken it one step further and left the PLC out. The interactive bike neons are now solely powered by the dyno itself!

    There is always an override, fail safe, a manual input... In this case, I have a psu supplied (static MODE) , dyno driven power (ECO MODE) and psu with (dyno input MODE) ... Allows for all scenarios and for future R&D expansion. :)
