This is a pixel from a brand new string from Ray. First time i powered it up but it was outside so i didnt notice it frying. I cut the pixel out and the rest of the string is still fine.

Manufacturing fault?

I'd say it would have been faulty. Good thing you were out there when it happened.

I had it hooked to an arduino and that fried too. Only from over current tho, not due to error. This particular string was only 25 pixels so it was running from a wall wart in the standard jack on the Arduino. Obviously the arduino is not designed to take several amps on its tiny tracks. All good now tho, just makes me nervous about the other 99 pixels.
