Do you think a 92cm star is to big for a 2.5m tree? Should i go the size smaller?

What are the best brand of pixels these days? I will be using the 5v bullet type.

This is a loaded question as everyone will have different views based on personal experience in the past. I have no issues with Ray's 5v nodes for what its worth, but others who have had issues in the past will never do business with him. There are some pre-buys/bulk buys happening with some newer players too, so unsure what results and quality will be like. Paul from WA's lihghtitup leds has been our local (aus based) importer and ensures the end user is covered if there are any issues.
The wiki is a good resource for lists of suppliers that is constantly evolving: https://auschristmaslighting.com/wiki/RGB-lighting-suppliers#RGB-and-pixels

Thanks. Whats the go with pre buys? Does it usually come with much of a discount?

Sometimes, usually on postage more than anything but will vary depending on the offer available and what you actually need.
I've just posted asking for current vendors/members to create specific posts for the current offers in the relevant area on the forum, so keep your eyes peeled here: https://auschristmaslighting.com/forums/bulk-buys-current.33/

@rob3 Hey mate, my first time this year myself - Im out western suburbs, and you will get loads of info from everyone. But the best thing is to jump in and start having a go. I found it easy to take in loads of advice and do lots of reading forums and chat board etc, but as soon as i started to make my first string it all clicked. So maybe and its completely your call. I did 1 string line around my fascia boards this year with a dig quad board (all in one and super cheap) and now it all makes sense - how to sync to xlights and create models and assign effects and export, now ill build a show for this year with props etc and im confident in how it all works, what i like and dont like and see how spacing of pixels and brightness etc effects what you want to present.
