Hi, am I able to use the standard 5050 strips, I know I would not get the flexibility but I do have quit a few rolls which I am not using, I was thinking of a 3, 6, 9 drop, how would the wiring work out should just connect all the 3's, 6's & 9's together, that way I would a have little control over the icicles, what power would l need, would it be different for the 3's,6's & 9's ?

There is no reason why you couldn't, but the wiring and potentially the RGB amplifiers you would need could make it quite a task to complete and only provide simple effects.
