Just a quick note to say this was resolved in chat, ended up being caused by no common ground between power supplies. The P2 and lights where on separate supplies.

Problem solved thanks to Benzor!! Cannot believe I was so stupid, when I was testing my lights prior to formatting the computer I was running both the lights and the controller from one 350W power supply all negatives connected.

After I had to format my computer I connected my controller to a single power supply and the lights to the 350W someone forgot to connect the negatives together. ???

Thank you again Ben for going through every possible thing known to man for about 2.5 hours with me.

good to hear you got it working!
I have been having trouble myself and I will now go through and earth everything before going any further.
I already know I have a problem with a floating earth with some of my 27v strings that are controlled from a 12v controller, but didn't think that it could also affect what the controller would actually output.
