For those interested, there is an installation called 'Radiant Lines' by Asif Khan at Federation Square in Melbourne that forms the centerpiece of the 'Light In Winter Festival' this year (running from June 1st to June 22nd.)

It is a giant ring-like structure about 5m high constructed of custom-extruded aluminium sections and features thousands of white LED pixels. It uses a 360 degree IR motion sensor to detect people up to 100m away, creating an interactive lighting masterpiece. 16 PixLite controllers were used to control all of the pixel strips - I have attached some photos of the setup prior to the final install.

That looks impressive, I wish I could be in Melbourne to see it.

Are there any videos of it in action?

I'll add some pics/video of it in action soon when I can get down there after dark.

Did anyone end up going to this? Is there any video anywhere?

Thanks

Looks like it would have been good to see. Creative Production services look like they have done some interesting projects. I'd certainly like to have their budgets.

Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is very impressive.

Idea to Concept to design process - must have been some brilliant minds working on it.
