Hi all, know its the busy time of the year but wondering if anyone can help. I am getting a high pitch buzzing sound like the one on this site http://www.pond5.com/sound-effect/8744262/electronic.html

I am using this setup http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111207067272?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

When I first set up the transmitter was next to the PC which produced the same sound and louder. I have moved the transmitter approx 5m into another room and turned off all electronics around it but the interference remains.

I have googled and searched the web with no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks Simon

Thanks David. It has a fan to cool the transmitter. Can this be safely disconnected? To eliminate another possibility.

I guess you could try that for a short test.

There has been a few threads on DIYC over the years on noisy power supplies and transmitters.

I can't access your link at the moment, but I bought a cheap transmitter from eBay and noticed some weird noises. After checking good old google, I bought a ground loop isolator from Jaycar for $9.90. My noise problem went away.
