Really Dumb Question About Dumb RGB

I know this is a really stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I understand that a strip of Dumb RGB is all the same colour at the same time, but what functionality does it support? Is it simply on or off or does it support things like twinkling, fading etc.? I'm assuming it won't do chases or anything similar.

Apologies for my ignorance, I'm just starting to think about my 2014 display.

you can do all the thinghs you would normally do with an LOR AC controller

So you can do fading, but twinkling, shimmering are done via software, but you have full control of the colours of the length of light used

Marc, with dumb RGB strips / strings or modules each one in that set will do the same thing (colour) at the same time.

So it's almost like having 3 sets of Big W single colour strings, but combined into one. Make sense?
