I also got a couple of those female ones you've mentioned, but I also got a couple of the more expensive ones - they have a 200mm lead on them already (speeding up install), but more importantly - they're easier to mount - just drill a 22mm odd hole in your enclosure, stick it through and tighten the nut.. I got mine from Altronics, but they are the same items.
The male part comes with an RJ45 plug, as you're expected to feed the CAT5 cable through the male housing before putting the plug on. ie. You can't use these fittings with a fully pre-made lead. You could cut one end of a pre-made lead off, feed it through and use the supplied RJ45 to replace that end.
