SMS Messaging Application - Send SMS's to your Display

Mate thanks for the help - It had to be something simple - I had not set the BB in FPP to bridge mode.
Its now happily receiving sms and displaying on the matrix.
Now all I have to do is make it waterproof and hangers on the side of the house.

Richie

No worries mate glad its all working.

a quick video in action -

I should add its not turned on all the time as it loads up my office computer and I need it for work processing,

Nice, I should make me one of those lol.

Glad someone's getting some use out of the app. Although how do you get away with it at work. Can I come work there?

It helps when you own the place, happy to show you around any time if you like but I would say your workplaces is more interesting.

Thanks for the app. I just build at 1X6 P10 for the SMS's and stated testing. I'm having a problem, the Text is Backwards and scrolls from Right to Left.
Thought??

Got it all sorted Must have been a PECAK error. Naw I had Top Left in the Model start corner Should have had it as Bottom Left

I do have a question to ask the Developer Is is possible to get Another Text Field so I can have the Count down, SMS Advertise and the third one to put up an additional message such as a Tune To Message?

Hi Richard,

I can do this, I'm not sure what third one you are talking about is though. I could also include a textbox in the app and you can add unlimited number of your own messages, one message per line and it will randomly display these messages as well

So would a simple checkbox meet your needs so if its checked then the incoming SMS is on the top line and the Countdown/Advertising/textbox message is on the bottom line?

I just looked at your first message and now I think I misunderstood. You just want an ability to add another message. I can still add the textbox so you can have as many as you want.

Updated SMS Messaging App 30 Jul 17 - To V3.4

- Added new Display Message Form and moved the Display messages to this form.
- Also added a message textbox so you can add unlimited number of messages to display (randomly), each new line will be a separate message.

Would be great if someone could test it for me. See first post for 32 and 64 bit links. Just uninstall your current version and install new one. Your old settings will remain so no need to re-enter these.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers

Geoff

Geoff, tried it this morning before starting work :), the extra messages work and come up randomly one line at a time inter-sped with the original two line messages, so this is great, I am not sure if my original intention is coming through through, I was after a message "bank" that would take in the sms'd messages and store them until they are pushed out of the stack, maybe this could be worked into the new message box - by using key words like COUNTDOWN is used in messages.
So say using "SMS1" as a key word these could be inserted into the extra messages box on one line and act as a variable extra message which would change when pushed out of the sms messages stack. I.E. as below -

Displayed messages - Extra Messages box.

first random message - Happy Hunaka
SMS message 1- SMS1
2nd random message - Merry Christmas
3rd random message - Happy New year and so on...
sms message 2 - SMS2
sms message 3 - SMS3
4th random message - Stay safe - Dont Drink and Drive this Christ

Just a quick challenge - grateful for whatever we get though as I am sure it will be fun as it is at the moment.
Regards Richard
