Soldering Stations - what you have pros and cons

Horray! Soldering iron station finally arrived ( took a month). Now time to have a play......um I mean do some serious soldering.

I purchased one like this, but without the power supply.
The heat gun is good for heat shrink.
The addition of a power supply looks handy.
Check the web for other stations.

My opinion is that combination tools are much less than the sum of their parts.

If you need a hot air tool (for heatshrink), buy a paint stripper gun for $25.

If you need a simple power supply, buy a 30V 3A unit for $95.

If you need a soldering iron, there's many in the $50 - $150 range that are reasonable for hobby use.
