strobe alternatives ?

Being a new member I've only just caught onto the whole strobe idea for my display. Unfortunately i was too late for the acl strobes buy so i am asking about commercial or diy alternatives. If anyone has some info or links I'd appreciate your post. 12v preferably.

Might be worth a look for a mod. 12v is good, however they look light they only project in one direction. I was hoping for a bulb type arrangement with randomized effect from 12v. $33 not much to pay just to have a look. Thanks for the link

All the dyi strobes are pretty directional. Mounting 2 units back to back may solve your problem.

I made some double sided pixel strobes:

You would need to drive them with a pixel controller as they aren't a simple DC drive type.

They are pretty bright, although not in the xenon lamp brightness range of course.

I ordered a panel of strobes for myself just because i figured if i'm building them I might as well have some. I don't have any plans for the 45 I ordered so if you're interested mine are available.
