Today I set out to build a 240V Lynx Express controller.

So far I'm off to the wholesaler to get some different resistors for the 240V version. (Easier than messing with and confusing the group buy system)

Next post should have a somewhat soldered board.

Wish me luck,
Rowan

How much did the kit/s cost Rowan?

$70 for the kit.
$32 for 16x 1or2 mtr leads (chop off plug to create tails, cheapest option)
$10 for masters box.
Gives me 16 DMX channels same as a LOR unit for about half the cost.

Cheers,
Rowan

We have built a few in the past but now don't use them anymore. The Express units are heaps better than the earlier Lynx 16 as the display let's you see what is happening. 240V set up was easy enough just cut a few tracks and add a link.

The Lynx Units come from

If you have 240V AC lights to control then they are good. If you have low voltage DC lights (<60VDC) then much better to use a low voltage DC controller. There are two made here by Forum members AAH and David_AVD and other Chinese ones from Ray Wu.

Ok so I've had a dat to myself with no distractions and have managed to get the controller finished.
Tested it and it worked first time perfectly.

Got some photos below as well as a teaser of the other project I got started today (Yes it still needs lot of work).

Cheers,
Rowan

Well done you want to be pleased it was not a Lynx 16 - no display and no idea what it is doing when it does not work.... We have a couple of Lynx Express units and four Lynx 16's - no plans to use them this year.
