has anyone heard of or seen vampire plugs. I get a online magazine called Planet Christmas and they are in there and look amazing. ive also looked on youtube and found some called spt zip plugs. just wondering if there is something like this available in Australia?

I could be wrong, but I think they are the U.S. mains plugs... so you won't get them here.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yup, as you have discovered they would not work down under.
And yes, they are very nice to use. I can make a single wire with plugs at both ends and some additional plugs in the middle of the wire in 2 or 3 minutes.
But due to their construction style they do require a bit of moisture protection.
Plastic bag zip tied works for me. :D

Yes, in the US they are absolutely amazing!
I make all my own extension cords with them and bulk spools of SPT-1
