The regulator may have a maximum operating voltage of say 30V, but that's only part of the story.

The regulator temperature can rise so high it soon hits the 150°C max and shuts down to protect itself.

Footage I didn't include in my video was aiming a gas soldering iron at it. Took a few seconds before i went unstable then shut off. I'll upload if I still have it?

Like I said in the thread were my video originates from; I hope to get a thermocouple and test highest temp. It won't be accurate now the resin is off but i'll give it a go.
