Waterproofing LED Strings

Old thread, but did any of you try using toluene to thin this sellers all clear down. I ended up using a very fine brush and painstakingly brushed (more like blobbed it) on the back of the LEDs. Prior to using this stuff I had used clear silicone and ones I have done, had no failures the past 2 years. The effort required though You could just spent more money on getting better quality light. Depends what's more important, time or money

I gave up trying to find toluene, and just added a small amount of mineral turps to thin the all clear out a bit, and with a fine brush, found it much easier to brush on, and it dries hard and no stickiness. Works a treat when it dries clear, don't even know it's there. It just takes time to do.
