Just for fun, I bought one of these RGB controllers with wi-fi interface. Mine came from an eBay seller (< $40 posted), but I think Ray Wu sells them too.
You control it from your Android (or Apple) smart phone / tablet using a free app from Google Play (or iTunes).
The controller appears on wi-fi as a separate SSID, so I assume that means you can't play with the colours and use your usual wi-fi connection at the same time? More than one device can control the lights with the last command taking precedence.
