WS2815 and 12volt

Are you connecting the Data to the GPIO and the Ground to the ESP, as well as the +12V and Ground to the external power supply? It's imperative that both grounds are connected.
Hi, my previous setup: white (grnd) cable from the led connected to ESP (grnd) with PS and backup data blue cable. Red cable (pos) to ESP with PS and green to green GPIO D4 on ESP. LED setting GPIO4.

Sounds all good - one last thing to check - the data you're sending from WLED; are you sure you're cabled to the Data IN side of the LEDs, and not the data out side?

Can you please explain, DO IS DATA and BO is backup. Correct?

What is the exact model number of the BTF strip you are using?

DO is Data Out. You want DI - Data In. But looking at your pic again - looks like youre connected to DI - just hidden under the connector.

Ok, issue fixed with moving to GOIP16 and D16. next challenge. I have a second led strip and only one led (second one) is on. Why?

this fixed the issue. GOIP16 on D16.

I notice you’re using D4. Was that using the Chris Maher example on esp8266? Looking at the WLED homepage it suggests using IO16 on as esp32. Maybe give that a try? https://kno.wled.ge/basics/getting-started/
You left tears in my eyes from joy lol thank you thank you

Is this a second strip? Attached to the end of the first one? Or did you disconnect the first and then connect this one?
