Is this cable overkill?

Hey everyone. I know there is a lot of talk on here on different cables people use but I have never seen anything on this before.

For power injection, I was considering using 3 core 240V 2.5mm2 cable which is the normal stuff you would see in house wiring. It’s heavy duty and would not lose much over distance. I could even strip out the red and black cables and use them. It’s cheap at only $1.50 per metre.
Do you see any negatives of using this or do you know of something better?

I think you'll find solid core (or even the low strand count) 2.5mm house wiring awkward to use.

The insulation is also not UV rated so may break down faster than you'd like.

I was looking at this 3.25mm cable for running power longer distances.

Thanks David. I will look into that cable. Looks promising
